GREENE – On Tuesday, the Greene Trojans boys’ basketball team hosted Unadilla Valley in their final regular season home game. Prior to the start of the game, Greene honored its seven seniors, who each had a big role in the 86-54 win. Congratulations to Jaden Eroshevich, Joel Vielandi, Will Dunlap, Trevor Ketcham, Braeden Goerlich, Colin Colgan, and Ryan Milk. Each senior also scored at least five points.

Greene didn’t waste any time getting into a groove with posting 20 plus in each of the first three quarters. Eroshevich excelled with 16 of his total 21 points in the first eight minutes alone as Vielandi and Dunlap set the pace before halftime. Dunlap combined with all 17 points between the second and third quarters as Vielandi added 15 of his total 19 points at the same time. It was all the seniors providing the scoring for the Trojans on their special night.

UV was heavily pressured from moving inside the paint and found success in long three-point shots. Their best efforts came in the final eight minutes with posting 23 points, including 10 points from Denzel Peter. Peter, along with senior Zach Smith, led the Storm with 14 points. Keegan Platt knocked in four of the team’s 10 three-pointers to finish with 12 points in the loss.

Greene improves to 10-6 on the season and has a strong league record of 8-1, that puts them ahead of Sidney for second place. Greene heads to Walton/Downsville in what could be the final regular season game for them before playoffs.

UV drops to 2-15 and has two regular season games remaining, including Friday’s home game against Harpursville at 6 p.m.
