NORWICH – After a setback against Owego, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls' basketball team returned home to face Windsor. Norwich defeated Windsor in their first meeting of the season in early January and swept the two-game series with a 52-34 victory. With the season winding down, Norwich remains confident and is standing tall with a 8-6 record amongst its other STAC opponents.

Norwich set themselves up at a good pace from start to finish and even had full control in the second quarter. The Purple Tornado shutout Windsor in those eight minutes alone and took a steady 26-10 lead into halftime. From there, Norwich extended its fierceness with continuing to hold Windsor to single-digit scoring and remaining consistent on their own side of the court.

It was a team effort for Norwich, where everyone had a role in this game. Josey Ryan led the way with 19 points, including nine points in the second half and knocking down three three-pointers. Olivia Schiraldi continues to command the boards as she finished with 16 points, hitting four three's. Talia Bookamer added four points while Brynley Ryan and Raegan Doliver both had three points in the win.

Norwich is currently 3-1 in the STAC division while being 8-6 overall with three regular season games remaining. They head to Oneonta on Tuesday night at 7:45 p.m.
