NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley Storm boys’ basketball team hosted Deposit/Hancock in a MAC league contest. UV continues to show improvement, but fell 52-41 on Wednesday night.

Both teams came out strong with UV posting a team-high 18 points in the first quarter. However, the offense struggled in the second and fourth quarters as they were held to single-digit scoring. Efforts were also strong in the third quarter after halftime, but Deposit/Hancock kept up tempo until the final eight minutes, limiting the Storm from any sort of breakthrough.

UV was led by its two leading seniors Tucker Cattanach and Zach Smith. Cattanach got the nod to start for the Storm and strived with 19 points, including going seven-for-10 at the foul line. Smith finished behind him with 10 points, where he knocked down three three’s.

UV (1-12) heads to Walton to take on Walton/Downsville on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
