LOCH SHELDRAKE – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders wrestling team brought their two top wrestlers to the Eastern States Classic over the weekend, held at Sullivan County Community College. Selina Moore and Landon Andrade made their presence known by both reaching the finals and making S-E and Chenango County proud.

Moore won the girls portion of the meet in the 145 weight class with three pins. Her quickest pin was within 23 seconds against Stratford’s Gabriella Kiely. Moore also had several quick pins at the Section III Girls Ranking Invitational on Monday in Fulton to achieve first. She pinned General Brown’s Adrianna Green within nine seconds and won her first place match with a 43 second pin.

She now has 13 pins on the season with a 13-4 record. Pasley French and Lilly Cox also competed for the S-E girls. Cox went 2-1 to earn second place in the 235 weight class while French finished 3-1 for third place in the 94 pound weight class.

Landon Andrade continues to excel for the Marauders in the 285 weight class. He went 3-1 in the Eastern States Classic to finish second. He won by decision along with two pins, including a 1:24 pom against Palmyra-Macedon’s Luke Herendeen. In the finals, Andrade lost a tough match against Middletown’s Stephan Monchery, where he was pinned in 1:58. The junior is still off to a strong season at 18-2.
