SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders wrestling team hosted Walton/Delhi on Wednesday night, coming away with a dominant 49-22 victory. This win was S-E’s ninth as a team this season and they are currently 9-1 and 1-1 in the CSC West standings.

The match was tough on both ends, where each wrestler had to work hard to achieve victory, even in decisions. Others laid down the quick pin to conclude the contest.

S-E’s Nick Miller (160 lbs) and Richie Fuller (215 lbs) received forfeits to add 12 points alone to the home team’s scoreboard while Walton/Delhi earned just one forefit. With only a few forfeits, this outcome led to great competition ahead.

Jackson Moore kicked off the night for S-E with a hard fought pin against Cadence Guy in the 101 match. Moore led 5-0 at the end of the second period before he was able to accomplish the pin in the final 22 seconds of the third. The junior is now 10-5 on the season.

Manny Collins and Cameron Mason won by decision in their respective matches. Collins picked up the 13-5 major decision victory in the 131 weight class as Mason earned the 7-0 win in the 138 weight class. S-E’s Justin Race fell in a 10-2 decision against Travis Houck.

Selina Moore had the most impressive performance on the evening for the Marauders. She fought back from being down early on against Walton/Delhi’s Kyle Miller, but she was able to get herself back up each time. She took a 3-2 lead after the first period and was finally able to set up the win by pin with one minute left in the second. The crowd and team were pumped up after watching her take the victory. Selina is now 7-4 with all seven wins by pins.

Andrade is having a great final season with a 15-1 record and has been perfect since falling in his only match in the Clyde Cole tournament.
