BAINBRIDGE – Regatta Row is now accepting applications from artists who wish to participate in Regatta Row’s 10th year! This milestone is being celebrated by featuring eight Adirondack Canoe Paddle chairs, and twelve *New this Year* Adirondack Canoe Paddle Rocking Chairs. The project is open to all artists from the acclaimed to the amateur. Painters, sculptors, craftsmen, multimedia artists and other wildly creative people are encouraged to apply.

The Jericho Arts Council (JAC) of Bainbridge hopes to sponsor at least 20 juried Artists for a five week public sidewalk exhibition of art, where selected artists will be able to express creativity upon our unique Adirondack paddle chairs, following our Theme “Celebrating the Regatta Since 1963”. We invite you to creatively express your ideas about the General Clinton Canoe Regatta Race and Carnival throughout its history.

JAC will provide artists with a handmade, unprimed chair, paint, primer & topcoat, and a stipend of $150 for either chair. Cash awards of $50 to $100 will be granted in five categories. Chairs will be picked up in Bainbridge, NY (unless other arrangements are made) in late February. Completed project will be delivered to Bainbridge, NY on or before April 20, 2024. Artists will be promoted with bio’s on the JAC website as well as in a media conference, regional press releases, posters, social media and on maps of the Art Trail. For five weeks, photos of each creation will be posted on the website along with the opportunity for bidding in advance of the Live Auction slated to take place on Saturday, May 25th at the Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta.

Art will be displayed on Bainbridge sidewalks from April 27 until Memorial Day weekend. Bainbridge, like dozens of other Towns and villages in this area, is attempting a grass roots revitalization of the community and this is one of the efforts to support the JAC. Proceeds from the May 25 Art Auction will go to the Jericho Arts Council to support our Artists and Musicians and to create future events.

Artist applications and details are online at: www.jerichoarts.com. Questions and applications can be directed to the JAC Gallery Committee “Regatta Row 2024” at jacarttrail@gmail.com or by calling Rachel Hares at 607-643-2211. Applications due January 28, 2024.

Apply today. If you want to participate or pass this invite on to others who may be interested, please do! Please share this adventure with your social media postings! Check us out on instagram @regattarow and find us on Facebook.
