WINDSOR – On Thursday, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls’ basketball team traveled to Windsor in their first STAC meeting of the season. Norwich snapped a two-game skid with a 52-30 win.

While Norwich hadn’t played since December 16, they didn’t let that factor stop them from coming into this contest ready to work. The Purple Tornado surely brought fierceness to this competition with settling in with a comfortable 24-13 lead at halftime. Norwich pumped up the boards in the final fourth quarter with 21 points and held Windsor to just 17 points in the second half.

Norwich was glad to have a well-rested team, where everyone was healthy for this contest, including the return of Olivia Schiraldi to the line-up. Josey Ryan led all scorers with 14 points, knocking in two-three’s while Emma Urgo finished with 12 points. Schiraldi had nine points with a couple of three’s as well in the win.

Norwich improves to 4-2 on the season and heads to Waverly on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
