NEW BERLIN – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders boys’ basketball team breathed a sigh of relief as they snapped a four-game skid with a 69-48 win over Unadilla Valley. This win sends S-E to the UV holiday tournament championship game to take on neighboring Norwich, who they fell to in a tight game last year.

S-E was quick to the ball throughout the contest against UV as they took advantage of the Storm’s turnovers early on and were successful in knocking down three’s when in good position. S-E also saw great movement inside from speedy Nick Hull. Hull pushed through with 17 points as Dilen Maceda finished behind him with 13 and Darren Miles and Aaron Key both had 10 points each.

UV stayed up tempo with S-E the best that they could and started showing that they had more control in the second and third quarters. UV was within three points at one point in the contest off three-point success from Keegan Platt. Platt knocked in four to finish with 15 points. Haywood Edwards finished with 13 points in the loss.

UV will take on Charlotte Valley, who they faced in the first game of the 2023 season, in today’s consolation game at 4:30 p.m. while S-E plays Norwich in the tournament title game at 6:15 p.m.
