NEW BERLIN – Coming off two tough games, the Sherburne-Earlville Lady Marauders snapped their two-game losing streak with a 45-33 win over Unadilla Valley in the UV Holiday Tournament.

S-E settles in at 7-3 with one more game of the tournament before resuming play after the new year.

UV made sure to have an early start, improving from the previous game, but ran into some foul trouble, sending S-E to the line 12 times in the first quarter alone. The Marauders made six-of-12 free-throws. S-E held a 21-10 lead at halftime, limiting the Storm offense with both teams battling on defense.

UV improved in the second half, but S-E did not let up their toughness in those 16 minutes. In fact, the Marauders had success in the inside with Hannah Todd-Rogers.

Todd-Rogers excelled in the final two quarters and was fed the ball repeatedly because of such success. She led S-E with 20 points, combining with 12 points in the second half. Chesnee Miller, who assisted Todd-Rogers, had nine points in the win.

UV’s Jaiden Schrag continued to play well for the Storm, scoring a team-high 13 points. Schrag scored the lone three team points in the second quarter and went five-of-10 at the foul line. Natalie Crandall set up the last shot of the game at the buzzer to finish with nine points in the loss.
