Boys' Swimming: Norwich Continues To Improve Times Vs Owego

NORWICH – On Tuesday, December 19, the Norwich boys' varsity swim team welcomed Owego for the last dual meet in 2023.

The Norwich team posted four personal best times in the seven swims they competed in that night. Leading the way for Norwich was Nate Shtrauch, with two personal best times with a first place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:13.04 and a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:08.99.

Next was Kris Deuel, with first place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.92 and a second place finish in the 50 yd freestyle with a personal best of 26.07. Amon Oliver followed with a third place finish in the 100 free with a PB time of 1:03.75 and a third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:30.44. Sharom Thinagaran capped things off with a fifth place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 43.66. Final score of the meet was Owego 86, Norwich 27. Norwich will be back in the pool after the new year, hosting Chenango Forks on Thursday Jan. 4 at 5:30 p.m.
