HARPURSVILLE – The Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville Bears wrestling team hosted Unatego/Unadilla Valley on Friday before Christmas break. Unatego/UV won 47-26 with both teams bringing tough competiton to the match-up.

BGAH’s Darren Florance stayed strong with technical fall in a 16-0 decision to Gavin Nordberg in the 116 weight class to pick up his 10th win of the season. Damon Seymour earned his second pin of the season against UV student Caleb Wildenstein in the 190 weight class. Seymour has won three of four matches he’s competed in. Elliott Briggs continues his streak of quick pins this season, where he picked up his 10th pin and 12th win of the season. He pinned Unatego/UV’s Deven Stilson in 1:56 in the 285 weight class.

BGAH’s Zack Decamp picked up a forfeit win as Levi Gregory won in the JV match. Aidan Duvall, Frank Parsons, Glen Miller, Silas Greenman, and Ryan Blackman came up short in their respective weight classes. Blackman fell to a tough UV opponent Wyatt Meade, who is on a roll to start his junior season, adding on to his 100 career wins. Meade pinned Blackman in a hard fought match with a time of 3:02. Meade is 8-0 so far this season with eight pins while Blackman is 9-3.

BGAH is competing in the 66th annual Windsor Christmas tournament on Thursday and Friday while Unatego/UV is at the Mountain Duals in Johnstown.
