BAINBRIDGE – After many schedule changes, the Greene Trojans’ boys basketball team finally returned to the court on Friday against Bainbridge-Guilford, who played their eighth game of the season. Greene was on top of their game against a steady Bobcats’ team to earn the tight 46-43 victory.

Both teams played consistently in the first half before Greene control the boards in the third quarter, limiting B-G to eight points. However, the advantage came in the final fourth quarter with both teams at the foul line.

Greene’s Joel Vielandi went to the line eight times alone in that final eight minutes, making five of those eight free-throws. He also had help from Will Dunlap, Jaden Eroshevich, and Trevor Ketcham to have the victory in the Trojans’ favor. Dunlap led Greene with 13 points while Vielandi had 12 and Eroshevich with 11 points in the win.

B-G’s James Hogroian led all scorers with 20 points and went seven-for-11 at the foul line while Isaiah Hampton had eight points in the loss.

Greene hosts their annual holiday tournament, starting Wednesday, Dec 27 at 5:30 p.m. The tournament will feature Windsor, Dryden, and Sidney. B-G (5-3) will resume play after the new year against Oxford on January 4 at 7:15 p.m. However, they are scheduled for a scrimmage against Chenango Forks on Friday, December 29 at noon.
