STOCK BRIDGE – After picking up their first win of the season against Belleville-Henderson last Saturday, the Otselic Valley Vikings have dropped their last two games, including Monday’s 46-40 loss to Stockbridge Valley. The Vikings have seen many close games thus far into the 2023-2024 season and continues to stay in reach throughout each contest, but haven’t been successful at turning the game in their ultimate favor.

Monday’s game was no different as the Vikings attempted a late comeback that just fell short. Stockbridge Valley took the six-point 26-20 lead at halftime and maintained it in the final two quarters. OV struggled to make a big run on offense late in the game.

The Vikings were led by their top senior guard Braeden Davis who scored a team-high of 17 points and averages 18.7 points per game through six games played. Sophomore Payne Wood stepped up his game and knocked down three three-pointers to finish with nine points while Caleb Loomis had eight points with two three’s in the loss.

OV (1-5) looks to bounce back as they host Madison on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
