HERKIMER – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders boys’ basketball team traveled to Herkimer on Monday, where they dropped their third straight game in a 56-40 deficit.

S-E has been consistent in staying up tempo with the teams they’ve played, but have fallen late in the final quarter.

S-E was limited in the second half of play to single-digit scoring against the Magicians, who never lost momentum throughout the contest. S-E was outscored 26 - 14 in the final 16 minutes alone. Herkimer also had advantage at the foul line, making 16-of-24 free-throws at 66 percent. S-E earned just four attempts, where they sunk in two foul shots.

The Marauders were led by Nick Hull and Garret Winton, who both scored 10 points while Aaron Key continues to play steadily and finished with nine points. Dilen Maceda, who leads S-E with scoring 10.1 points per game, was held to just five points in the loss.

S-E (3-5) looks to snap its three-game skid against Cooperstown on Friday at 7 p.m.
