Girls' Basketball: S-E Pulls Ahead Late To Defeat Herkimer

HERKIMER - The Sherburne-Earlville Lady Marauders have seen themselves in many tight games lately, where they've won the last six of seven games with their only loss to Norwich. The Marauders came through in the final minute of play against Herkimer to win 52-47 on Friday night.

Both teams showed strength throughout the contest with S-E's efforts shining in that final fourth quarter. S-E went ahead and kept the lead from the foul line as Abby Shaver gave S-E a two-point lead while Alyse Brown and Chesnee Miller added the final touches in their successful attempts at the line.

S-E was led by Hannah Todd-Rogers, who posted a season-best 15 points and also had eight rebounds while Chesnee Miller finished with 13 points and four assists. Alex Grzymkowski added 12 points with a team-high of three steals in the win.

S-E improves to a hot 6-1 record with the toughest matchup of the season coming up on Tuesday as they host unbeaten Little Falls at 7 p.m.
