Bowling: UV/Norwich Defeats B-G

BAINBRIDGE – With both teams off to a strong start to the 2023 season, the Unadilla Valley/Norwich Storm and the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats faced off on Tuesday evening in a MAC league match. UV/Norwich took both victories on the afternoon with a close boys’ competition and a solid girls’ contest.

The Storm boys won by a score of 3011-2870 and were led by Jacob Prentice who bowled a team high series with a 689. Prentice started off hot with a 267 before settling in with a 226. Nate Rumovicz finished with the second highest score for the Storm with a 677 series, including all 220 plus games with a high of 228 in the first game.

The Bobcats’ boys were led by Jacob Lyle with a 626 series as he bowled a 232 in his final game. Colin Dicks had the team’s highest game with a 238 in his second game and finished with a 624 series.

The UV/Norwich girls swept the boards with a 2531-1500 victory. Brynn Grant finished with a 572 series as Phalen Hill had a 536. Grant bowled the Storm’s highest game of the day with a 223 in the second of three games. B-G’s Railey O’dell bowled a 467 to lead the Bobcats with the highest game of a 182.

UV/Norwich is right back on the lanes this afternoon as they head to Sidney at 3:45 p.m. while B-G faces Sidney on Friday at 3:45 p.m.
