Boys’ Basketball: Norwich Defeats Chenango Forks To Start League Play

CHENANGO FORKS – On Tuesday, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team traveled to Chenango Forks for their first STAC meeting of the 2023 season. Norwich came away with an impressive 54-39 win off the hot hands of Steven Dowdall.

Norwich started off strong with 19 points in the first quarter alone before settling in with consistent play throughout the remainder of the game. The Purple Tornado limited Forks in the final eight minutes of play with just seven points on the board.

Due to strong efforts, Norwich’s Steven Dowdall was able to find his groove and post 23 points on the evening, including four three’s. Jacob Morris also knocked down four three-pointers with 12 points in the smooth victory.

Norwich, feeling comfortable through four games at 2-2, hosts tough league opponent Chenango Valley on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
