DELHI - After a big win against Newfield to open the 2023 season, the Greene Trojans girls basketball team won a close game against Delhi 42-38 in the final minutes of play.

Both teams played neck and neck in the final half, but it was Greene's brief 19-16 lead at halftime as well as a one-point margin advantage in the third quarter that helped them take the overall victory.

Greene was led by Cali Knapp and Lyla Biefeldt in the final quarter as both ladies knocked down three's to help drive the offense. Knapp led the Trojans with nine points as Claire Flanagan and Abby Yahner tied with eight points. After last year's big run to start the season, the Trojans are starting up hot again and look to continue to keep things rolling along as they host Walton/Downsville on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
