SHERBURNE – Join us for our Bird Club meeting and program on at 6:30 p.m.  Wednesday, November 8, in the main visitor building at Rogers Environmental Education Center, 2721 NY80 in Sherburne.

The business section of the meeting will start at 6:30 with the presentation starting around 7 p.m. We will present our “Friend of Birds Award.”

The club's November meeting will feature a presentation by member Rick Bunting. Through the macro and zoom lens, his program will provide an opportunity to catch a glimpse of those aspects of Nature’s design that escape the eye in casual observation.

The exploration will include a wide variety of examples from many species of birds, insects, butterflies, and the like.  Come join in the hunt for some of the “hidden” treasures of the natural world.
Rick Bunting is Professor Emeritus from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where he served as Chair of Music Education and conductor of the renowned Crane Chorus.

Previous to his work at Potsdam, he taught at the Bainbridge-Guilford Central School, SUNY Fredonia, and Jacksonville University. Since his retirement from teaching, he has devoted a great deal of time to his passion as an amateur naturalist. He enjoys taking pictures of what he sees and sharing them on a regular basis with many friends and in the programs he creates.

Future meetings include our meeting on Wednesday, December 13, planning for the Christmas Bird Count and a program of photos by club member Mike DeWispeleare, the Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 16 and the NYSOA Winter Waterfowl Count from January 13 to 21.
