NORWICH - The Chenango County Republican Committee met over the weekend to rally support for candidates and discuss future fundraising ideas.

The meeting was held on Saturday afternoon, and had representatives from around the county in attendance in addition to New York State Assemblyman Joe Angelino.

When asked about the event, Chenango County Republican County Chair Acee said, “Chenango County Republicans met Saturday morning to rally support for their candidate.”

“Our party represents low taxes, smaller government, and security for our country.”

He said the committee also strongly supports the family which forms the foundation of our society

Angelino also spoke on the foundation of the Republican Party, and said, “I'm proud of the tenets of the Republican Party; namely fiscal restraint, low taxes, and supporting law enforcement.”

“These principles are particularly well suited for the rural area in which we live,” he added. “I'm happy to endorse this fine slate of local candidates and ask for all residents to consider them as a great choice for their vote."
