Golf: Norwich Stays Hot, Defeats Sus Valley

CONKLIN – Straight after winning the Section IV, Class B championship, the Norwich Purple Tornado golf team continued its remaining regular season schedule.

Norwich defeated Sus Valley 210-251 on Tuesday afternoon.

Julien Smith led the Purple Tornado with a 38 while Jacob Morris, the top Norwich golfer at sectionals, followed behind him with a 39 on the par-36 course. Braden Reid shot a 40 while Matthew Brunick finished with a 44. Aidan Stafford wrapped up Norwich’s scoring with a 49.

Sus Valley’s scores ranged from a low of 44 to a high 57.

Norwich (8-1) finishes the 2023 regular season at their home Canasawacta Country Club against Seton Catholic on Friday at 4 p.m.

Greene Field Hockey falls to Windsor 4-0. Greene received two penalty corners, but did not record a single shot on goal. Goalkeeper Braelyn Blakeslee made 15 saves in the loss.

Sherburne-Earlville girls soccer falls to Canastota 9-0. No stats were reported at this time.

Norwich girls tennis falls to Union-Endicott 7-0 on Monday. Norwich has one match remaining on Thursday, October 5 in Johnson City.
