GILBERTSVILLE – The Major’s Inn in Gilbertsville will open its doors for its annual quilt show Oct. 6, 7 and 8. The theme of this year’s show is “Stitch in Time.”

Show hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Lunch will be served each day at 11:30 a.m.

This year’s show displays traditional and contemporary pieces from local quilters. The featured quilter is Lucy Kise, who has been quilting since the 1970s.

Quilts made by a family from Clever, MO, dating from 1890 to mid-1900s will also be displayed. Photos of each of the women who made these quilts and who the quilts were made for will accompany the exhibit. Sara Pressler, of Sidney, who has inherited these quilts, will be present to greet the public on Friday and Saturday in The Green Room, second floor of the Major’s Inn, where the quilts will be hung.

A first-time participant in the show will be the 30-member Schoharie Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild, 8 of whose members are in the Catskill Mountains Quilters Hall of Fame. The guild will mount a variety of quilts of all sizes.
