Boys Soccer: Greene Defeats JC

GREENE - The Greene Trojans boys soccer team hosted non-league opponent Johnson City on Saturday morning, coming away with a 4-1 victory.

Greene led 3-0 at halftime before holding their own defensively in the second half to maintain the lead.

It was a team effort for the Trojans with four different goal scorers. Kloden Rapp, who continues to be the team's leading goal scorer, netted one, along with Eli Sepulveda-Kiefer, Jonah Browning, and Kenny Baucas. Rapp and Baucas added assists as well in the win. Jackson Roth and Braeden Goerlich combined with three saves in goal for Greene.

Greene is looking to go even against MAC leading Afton/Harpursville on the road this time on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Greene Field Hockey falls short to Baldwinsville 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. Josie Dutcher scored a goal in the first quarter and picked up an assist on Claire Flanagan’s goal late in the fourth quarter that forced overtime. Goalkeepers Braelyn Blakeslee and Tati Wells combined with eight saves in the loss.

Bainbridge-Guilford golf upsets Oxford 234-238 at Sundown. Michael Lipani shot an all-around low of a 39 for B-G while Easton Porter chips in a 44. Oxford’s Bennett Paden finished with a 43 in the loss.

Afton/Harpursville boys soccer falls to Delhi 1-0. Delhi scores the lone goal in the first half of play and stops a tough Crimson Knights team. This is Afton/Harpursville’s first loss of the season, but the defending MAC champions remain solid at 7-1.
