Norwich Girls Soccer Defeats Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY – Coming off a win against Sus Valley, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls soccer team held a 2-0 lead to defeat Johnson City in a non-league contest. With the win, Norwich is currently 3-4 on the season while being 1-1 in the STAC East division and 1-3 in the STAC league overall with upcoming league matchups.

Freshman Josey Ryan led the Purple Tornado with both goals in the first half with both goalkeepers strong in the second half.

Norwich hosts Owego on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

UV football falls to New York Mills 50-6 in Section IV/Section III eight-man crossover. Wyatt Meade scores a rushing touchdown in the loss. UV is back on the road against Moravia this Saturday at 1 p.m.

UV/GMU boys soccer tied with Delhi 0-0 in overtime.

Greene girls soccer tied with Walton 1-1 in overtime. Cali Knapp scored the lone goal for the Trojans.

Bainbridge-Guilford boys soccer defeats Oxford 5-1 in MAC league play. Brock and Easton Porter both score two goals each while Corbin Gerund adds one in the win. Oxford’s Jared Sheridan nets his second goal of the season in the loss.

Norwich Volleyball falls 3-0 to Johnson City.

The Norwich girls tennis team defeats Owego on Friday 3-1. Two points by forfeit and Addison Jackson picked up the single win 7-5 and 6-1.
