Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band wowed the Chenango Blues Festival crowd The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band wowed the crowd at the 30th annual Chenango Blues Festival with their over the top country blues finger pickin' and soulfully crafted performance. NORWICH — The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band wowed the crowd at the 30th annual Chenango Blues Festival with their over the top country blues finger pickin' and soulfully crafted performance.

Chenango Blues Festival President Eric Larsen said Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band are “the greatest front-porch blues band in the world.”

Larsen said The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is a three-time Blues Music Award nominee and currently, the Reverend is considered to be one of the most excellent finger picker players and rootsey blues performers of his time. The bands song “Something For Nothing” debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard blues chart in 2012 and their latest record “Dance Songs For Hard Times” was No. 1 on the Billboard, iTunes, and Sirius XM Blues Charts.

Big Damn Band fan attendee Maryann Champlin said, “I’ve seen them twice and this was the best show of the year. No one puts on a more fun show than Reverend Peyton and Washboard Breezy.”

The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is a trio of bluesy creative artists. Reverend Peyton is lead vocal, plays guitar and harmonica. His wife “Washboard” Breezy plays the washboard, percussion, and vocals and “Sad” Max Senteney plays drums, percussion, and vocals.

Reverend Peyton said the Big Damn Band was formed in 2006 and it was pretty lean in the beginning, going from show to show and trying to make something happen.
