NORWICH — A group of Chenango County residents will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for "Largest High Chair" at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 at Hidden Springs Brewhouse, located at 170 County Road 31 in Norwich.

The event, which has been named "Chair-ry Fest," is free and open to the public. Hidden Springs will be selling "Cherry-Oh!" beer, a cherry flavored oatmeal stout, and Hubcap Munchies will be providing cherry inspired food.

Additionally, Gilligan's Ice Cream will be selling "Cherry Treasure" ice cream, with proceeds going to support Catholic Charities.

"People can buy ice cream, cherry flavored ice cream from Gilligan’s, too, and it will support Catholic Charities. Get it? 'Chair-ities?'" joked Committee Chair John Antonowicz.

The committee attempting to break the record is made up of local residents John Antonowicz, Candy Boise, Tony Capaccio, Kathy Glavin, and Ted Guinn. The group has already begun crafting the chair, and will be finishing construction at Saturday's event.
