GREENE – A popular mountain bike group out of Greene, called the Shredders, have been competing in the NICA mountain bike races this season, where they celebrated one of their own in the final race.

This past weekend at Old Forge, the Shredders celebrated a NICA New York League champion as Jaxson Calice finished second for the JV Boys at the NYS Championship race.

He was also the season points leader, where the freshman moved up a class to earn this honor for a second time. Last season, he was the champion in the freshman group as only an eighth grader.

Jaxson is also a talented athlete at Greene Central School, where he plays football and swims.
