TRUMANSBURG – After taking care of Spencer Van Etten/Candor on Friday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team knew they’d be up against tough competition as they faced number one seed Trumansburg.

However, B-G’s bats fired up to carry a 11-6 victory to advance to the semi-finals.

The Bobcats got things started and carried a 4-1 lead after the first inning. Trumansburg tied it at four in the second, but B-G answered with another four runs in the fourth. B-G also held the Blue Raiders to their final two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and added more insurance runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

The Bobcats scored 11 runs on 13 hits and were led by Connor Davy, Ethan Beames, Julian Pruskowski, and Tim Kinter, who all collected multiple hits on the day. Davy and Beames both had three hits in five plate appearances. Beames drove in a team-high four runs with Davy had three RBIs in the win. Pruskowski and Kinter added on with two hits and along with Damon Seymour and Gavin Gifford, they all drove in a run.

Coming off a dominant performance against Spencer Van Etten/Candor on Friday, the Bobcats put their trust in Nolan Hawkins. Hawkins was excellent throughout seven innings. Despite giving up six runs (one earned) on five hits, he stood his ground and also struck out nine batters.

B-G travels to Union Springs on Wednesday in the semi-finals at 4:30 p.m. If B-G were to win, they’d advance to the sectional championship held in Watkins Glen on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
