CHENANGO COUNTY – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Afton Crimson Knights baseball teams will be representing Chenango County in Sectionals this season. Both teams finished strong in the regular season to earn a postseason bid.

B-G finished the regular season with a 9-8 record and are the nine seed in the Section IV, Class C Tournament. They will travel to play the eighth seeded 7-9 Spencer Van Etten/Candor team in the first round on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

The Crimson Knights earned a first round bye with a 9-4 record in Class D and stand as the number four seed. They could play one more game in preparation for Sectionals, but it is not certain at this time. However, they know their opponent in the second round. Afton will host fifth seed (8-6) Southern Cayuga on Monday, May 22 at 4:30 p.m.

Good luck to both B-G and Afton. Admission is not charged until the Sectional championships. The Class D championship will be held at Sidney High School while Class C is still undecided at this time.
