VESTAL – Over the last 10 weeks or more, the Afton/Harpursville varsity soccer team has been working hard in the offseason for the Varsity/U19 indoor soccer league. This past Saturday, they defeated Chenango Forks in the league championship 3-2 in overtime.

Throughout the league, that began in early February, Afton/Harpursville had been playing against teams from the Binghamton area that included  Chenango Forks, Seton CC, Chenango Valley, Maine-Endwell as well as other club teams from the surrounding area. The league features 12 teams in total.

Afton was the second seed going into the league playoffs and only lost two games throughout the season.
