BAINBRIDGE – Coming off wins in their first games of the season, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Unadilla Valley Storm faced each other on Tuesday evening. After the game was tied at five to end the third inning, B-G scored two runs in the sixth and held UV to win 7-6.

The Bobcats got on the board early in the bottom of the first as Celeste Baldwin drove in two runs before scoring on a wild pitch.

UV answered back with five runs in the top of the third as three runners reached on walks before Haleigh Fisher brought in two on a single to left. The next three runs came in on mishaps made by the B-G defense. Fisher went 3-for-4 at the plate in the loss.

B-G, down two in the bottom of the third inning, tied the game off trouble by the Storm defense. The Bobcats kept UV from scoring to notch in their final two runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth. Jordyn Parsons hit a line-drive single to right field to send home two.

UV was not going down without a fight in their final at-bats. Fisher led off the top of the seventh with a double to center before scoring with two outs on Bella Jones’ double. Efforts were shortened when Jaiden Schrag grounded out to the pitcher on the final play.

Gabriella Cuozzo earned the win in relief for the Bobcats. She went four innings, allowing the one run on five hits, one walk, and struck out three batters. Celeste Baldwin started the game, where she went three innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on two hits, five walks, and four strikeouts.
