CDO Workforce Mini Job Fair and 'Jobs Jump-Start' training course CDO Workforce is hosting a mini job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 13 located at 1 O'Hara Drive. NORWICH — CDO Workforce is hosting a mini job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 13th located at 1 O'Hara Drive. Instant interviews with local employers include; Lambrecht Auction, Achieve, and Willow Run Foods.

CDO Workforce is the official Career Development Source for employment, training, and recruitment issues for business and individuals in Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties of New York State. Employers can post job openings at no charge to CDO Workforce which will bring attention to job seekers.

Alisa Cooper said “When I heard about CDO, I made an appointment and got right in. That is also a nice thing about CDO, you will get in quick. So, if you want to get your GED, I think CDO Workforce is a great idea.

A free “Jobs Jump-Start” four day training course is scheduled for April 17 quickly filled with applicants.

In the four day course, job seekers will receive training on finding a job, learning new or brushing up on basic computer skills, and learning to create a resume that stands out.

CDO Workforce Employment and Training Director Tylena Daniels said, “Classes may be full now but you can call in and if someone cancels, we will take that person from the call list and add them to the class. We only have six computers available so the slots fill up quickly.”

The first day of ‘Jobs Jump-Start’ training will provide an introduction to word, how to sync phone to email, how to interview, and problem resolution.

Training on day two will consist of building and editing a resume, how to job search, how to upload documents and uploading an online application.

The third day of training will be an education on Zoom. Job seekers will learn how to created a Zoom account, syncing Zoom to phone, Zoom etiquette, mock interviews and scheduling Zoom interviews.

The fourth and final day will provide a review of Zoom interviews, Modifying social media accounts and creating an updated job folder.

At the completion of all four day training courses, the attendee will receive a $50 gift card, a folder that includes hard copies of resume with new skills listed, a USB drive for storage of resume, submitted job applications, an appropriate social media presence, an email address that is synched to phone and the ability to jump-start a new career.

CDO Workforce Coordinates and focuses on employment, training and education development to unemployed, employed and employers with the goal to improve long term growth and development of the work force. CDO has over a dozen local organizations to support job seekers skillset, from basic literacy to vocational training and degree grant college programs.
