BAINBRIDGE – On Wednesday, the Bainbridge-Guilford baseball team hosted Charlotte Valley to open the 2023 season. The Bobcats fell to the Wildcats 9-6 in a non-league matchup.

After a scoreless top half of the inning from Connor Davy and the Bobcats defense, B-G got on the board as Kaiden Seymour drove in Davy on an RBI single. Davy had reached on an error and was on second and hustled in to score. Both teams committed six errors in a shaky start to the season.

Kaiden would then steal second base and make it to third on a wild pitch before scoring on Damon Seymour’s groundout.

Charlotte Valley caught up in the top of the second inning with a run of their own off an error to be down by one. However, the Wildcats took advantage of a struggling B-G defense in the third as they scored four runs to take a 5-3 lead.

B-G attempted to come back, staying in line with Charlotte Valley. But, the Wildcats completed their victory in the sixth with two runs and a final run in the seventh.

The Bobcats outhit Charlotte Valley 7-6 with Connor Davy, Jose Bivar, Kaiden Seymour, Damon Seymour, and Tim Kinter each driving in a run in the loss. Kinter led all batters with three hits on the day.
