Local Teams Compete In MAC Bowling Tournament

HANCOCK – On Tuesday, the Unadilla Valley, Bainbridge-Guilford, and Greene/Oxford bowling teams competed at the MAC Bowling Tournament held at the Fox Bowling Center in Hancock. The Unadilla Valley Storm had already earned the MAC Champion title prior to the tournament, so this was more of getting all the teams together one final time before sectionals.

UV boys and girls finished first overall. Owen Hill (666) and Arin Buchanan (629) were on top of their game in the tournament. Hill’s high series was good enough for third on the day while Buchanan’s also came in third.

UV boys finished second as a team in the team scratch series and second in the team scratch game behind Hancock. The girls took the team scratch game and scratch series ahead of Greene/Oxford.

The B-G boys finished in third with Collin Dicks achieving the highest scratch series of the tournament with a 736, including the top scratch game of a 289.

The three hard-working B-G girls finished seventh with Catherine Fuller earning the top scratch game with a 256 and had an all-around high series of a 653.

The Greene/Oxford boys came in fifth place with Aiden Carter bowling a team-high of a 594 series, including a 216 in the first game. Teammate Aidan Roth bowled a highest 242 in the second of three games. The girls came in third behind UV and Sidney, where Halia Tallett bowled a high series of a 638 with a high game of 238, which was good for third in the scratch games. She also bowled a 235 in the final game.

Good luck to all teams competing in Sectionals this weekend. Sectionals will be held at Midway Lanes in Vestal.
