GIRLS BASKETBALL: B-G Defeats Oriskany

ORISKANY - Falling behind to Oxford and Greene for a chance at the MAC title, the Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats stand tall in third place, coming off a non-league 56-47 victory over Oriskany. B-G has one final game of the regular season before playoffs and sit at 4-4 in the division and 11-8 overall.

The Bobcats started off the game strong with 22 points in the first quarter to take a dominant 36-19 lead at halftime. Efforts of the first half came from Taylor Kazmirski, who scored 11 points on the night with three three-pointers in the first 16 minutes.

B-G settled into the comfortable lead, but Oriskany inched closer to catching up and outscored them 28-20 in the second half. But, the Bobcats stood their ground and held on to the lead by playing consistently in three of four quarters to secure the victory.

Celeste Baldwin led the way overall with 20 points and drilled four three’s while Jayslin Henderson had 13 points, including going five-for-six at the free-throw line.

B-G heads to Delhi on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
