CANDOR – The Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats have seen quite a challenge in the last few games, but were very appreciative to pick up the 47-36 win over Candor over the weekend. B-G sits behind Greene and Oxford in third place in the MAC standings with a 4-4 divisional MAC record and at 10-8 overall.

B-G started out strong with 15 points while their defense put in equal work, holding Candor to single-digit scoring in three-of-four quarters. The Bobcats took a mighty 20-12 lead at the half.

Even with the Indians catching up in the final quarter of play, efforts fell short due to inconsistent play throughout the contest. Both teams were also consistent at the free-throw line as B-G made 8-of-15 foul shots and Candor made 8-of-13. B-G was satisfied with holding on to the lead to snap a two-game losing streak after tough games against Greene and Oxford.

Johnna Henderson led the Bobcats with 16 points, including eight points in the third quarter. Celeste Baldwin finished behind her with 14 points and went five-for-eight on the free-throw line.

B-G has updated their schedule and have two games coming up. They head to Oriskany this evening before taking on Delhi on Wednesday. Tonight game is expected to start at 6 p.m while Wednesday’s game will start at 5 p.m.
