Chenango Health Department: Current COVID-19 Community Level Is Medium

CHENANGO COUNTY — The Chenango County Health Department has issued a COVID-19 update, placing the community COVID-19 level at medium.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) the case rate of COVID-19 in Chenango County as of February 10 is 88.97 per 100,000 people, with 11 new COVID-19 admissions per 100,000 people, and 4.4 percent staffed inpatient beds in use by patients with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

If you are at high risk of getting very sick, wear a high-quality mask or respirator (e.g., N95) when indoors in public. If you have household or social contact with someone at high risk for getting very sick, consider self-testing to detect infection before contact, and consider wearing a high-quality mask when indoors with them.
