GILBERTSVILLE — The Village Improvement Society of Gilbertsville (VIS) will hold a preview for items offered in its online auction at the Gilbert Block, located at 5 Commercial Street, on February 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

All 80 items offered will be on display for people to see before placing bids at www.laibids.com. VIS members will also be present for those needing help with registering and bidding online.

A separate, silent auction, featuring many quality items, will be held during the reception, at which refreshments will be served. A wide variety of jewelry, handmade journal books, historic block print reproductions, a birdbath, vintage canisters, and more will be offered at the silent auction, which will be held a second time on February 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The online auction is sponsored by Lambrecht’s Auction, Inc. of Bainbridge, who is generously donating its time, website use, and buyers’ premium to VIS. Bidding ends on February 16 at 7 p.m. Items won must be picked up at the Gilbert block on February 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.

All proceeds from the auctions will go toward much needed improvements on Gilbert Block buildings.
