GREENE – Since losing their undefeated campaign to Oxford two games ago, the Greene Trojans girls basketball team continues to dominate against other MAC opponents like they’ve done all season. They defeated Bainbridge-Guilford 43-21 on Wednesday evening in what might have been the final regular season game.

Both teams had a slow first half with a low-scoring game as Greene took a brief 18-13 lead at halftime But, some might see that as a defensive battle as Greene has been fierce all season. For B-G, this was their second straight loss to a tough opponent after falling to Oxford last Friday.

Greene continues to prove themselves as a second half team when it matters most. They held the Bobcats to a total of eight points in the final 16 minutes and took control on offense with 25 points.

The Lady Trojans continue to be led by senior Payton Yahner. She led all scorers with 18 points and was very consistent on the free-throw line, making six-of seven foul shots. Cassie Butler finished behind her with seven points in the victory.

Taylor Kazmirski and Johnna Henderson both finished with six points for the Bobcats in the loss. Celeste Baldwin, Peyton Umbra, and Jayslin Henderson were all held to one point on the night.
