BAINBRIDGE – It wasn’t easy, but the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team squeezed out a two-point victory against Sidney 50-48 on Friday. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-2 in MAC league play while being consistent at 8-6 overall.

Both teams made the game interesting with competitiveness shown all around. Sidney took a brief 31-23 lead at halftime, meaning that B-G had to step up their game plan to battle back. Something that they did tremendously in the final 16 minutes.

B-G held Sidney to seven points in the third quarter to put themselves only down 38-33 to start the fourth quarter. With that momentum, B-G pushed through with their best offensive quarter of the night to outscore Sidney 17-10. They took the lead and maintained it until the end.

David Emerson, Garrett O’Hara, and Connor Vredenburgh all posted double-digit scoring for the Bobcats while James Hogroian had nine points. Emerson led the team with 13 points while O’Hara knocked down three three-pointers to finish with 11 points. Since his return to the lineup, Vredenburgh has been strong on both sides of the court and had 10 points in the win.

B-G heads to Deposit-Hancock on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
