NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team has found success against Windsor this season, sweeping the two-game series, including a 61-48 victory on Friday. Norwich had defeated Windsor in the first meeting 69-55 in December.

With only a few regular season games remaining, Norwich knows they must be won in order to keep any postseason chances alive.

Norwich excelled right off the bat with 21 points scored in the first quarter, 11 of those coming from Steven Dowdall. Dowdall finished with 20 points on the night and Wyatt Thornton knocked down four three’s with 14 points.

Norwich was not finished as they posted a total of 30 points in the second and third quarter, making any offensive strategies by Windsor impossible.

Norwich sits at 5-10 on the season with their next game against Oneonta on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. Oneonta is sitting atop the STAC East standings at 8-5 and defeated Norwich 69-55 in the first matchup.
