OWEGO – Coming back to the lanes after the STAC mid-season tournament, the Norwich Purple Tornado bowling teams faced Owego on Monday afternoon, where both the boys and girls were defeated. The JV and Varsity boys were both swept 5-0 while the girls lost a close 3-2 match.

For the Norwich JV boys, Tim White led the team with a 418 series and Troy Schack finished with a 358 series as the team continues to improve.

Norwich’s varsity team couldn’t seem to be consistent as a team with only two bowlers; Spencer Root and Dawson Robinson able to hit 200 games. Root finished with a 582 series, including a 224 in the second game while Robinson struck a 595 series with a 237 in the final game.

Owego had three bowlers reach a 602 series or better to have the overall advantage over Norwich.

For the girls, no JV scores were sent, but the Varsity team was in the same position as the boys with lower than usual scores. Andie Mucha still continues to lead the team, but she did so with only a 454 series. It was the highest series of the contest, but her teammates struggled and couldn’t finish out strong in the loss.

Norwich will be hosting Chenango Valley at East Main Lanes in Sidney on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
