NEW BERLIN - Over the weekend, the Unadilla Valley Storm bowling teams swept Afton/Harpursville. With a dominating 3274-2181 victory, the boys improve to 15-1 on the season while the girls remain undefeated through 16 matches. UV and Sidney girls are the only remaining undefeated MAC teams, both sitting at 16-0.
For the Storm boys, everyone bowled very well with scores 553 and higher. Owen Hill took the glory with a 758 series, best of all bowlers on the day. He bowled a 267 in the first game, a 256 in the second game, and stayed consistent with a 235 in the final game. Nate Rumovicz was behind him with a 678, including a team-high 269 in the second game.
The Storm girls brought that same intensity, but were only facing three opposing players. Brynn Grant led with a 648 series. She bowled a 232 in the first game while finishing with a 244 in the final game. Phalen Hill finished behind her with a 586.
The Storm will take on Sidney this afternoon, starting at 3 p.m. It should be an interesting matchup between both schools who have been doing well so far this season.
