GREENE – On Thursday, the Greene Trojans boys basketball team hosted the state-ranked and undefeated Delhi Bulldogs. Delhi defeated Greene 65-46. Along with Norwich and Bainbridge-Guilford, Greene gave Delhi a solid match, but Delhi was too tough early on.

Delhi came out strong with a whopping 38 points scored in the first half as Greene tried to stay up tempo to be down 38-26 at halftime. Greene’s luck fell in the second half, held to only seven points in the third quarter before scoring 13 in the final eight minutes.

The Trojans’ downfall was not being able to make foul shots, they only made five of 18 attempts. It could have been a closer affair if those were made.

Greene appreciated having William Dunlap back in the lineup as he scored a team-high of 12 points with Kloden Rapp behind him with 10. Jaden Eroshevich also returned and scored nine points in the loss.

Greene (5-4) will host Downsville on Monday at 7 p.m.
