GIRLS BASKETBALL: B-G Falls To Sidney

SIDNEY – The Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats suffered a 54-40 loss to Sidney at a time of celebration for the Warriors on Wednesday. Sidney’s Emma Simmons surpassed 1,000 points in front of her home crowd and finished with 25 points in the overall contest.

Sidney held BG to only 12 points in the first half to take a 10-point 22-12 lead at halftime. The Bobcats came out for the second half strong with answering back with 22 points in the third quarter. But, they could not get anything going in the final eight minutes, as they were held to six points, to finish the overall comeback.

Aside from Simmons’ hot night, Ava Cirgliano settled in with 21 points in the win for Sidney.

Celeste Baldwins continues to pave the way for the Bobcats as she led the team with 19 points and Johnna Henderson behind her with 14 points. Baldwin hit four three-point shots in the loss, including two in the strong third quarter.

BG (6-3) will host Deposit-Hancock on Monday at 7 p.m.
