HANCOCK – The Unadilla Valley, Bainbridge-Guilford, Afton/Harpursville, and Greene/Oxford bowling teams participated in the MAC League Holiday Tournament held at the Fox Bowling Center in Hancock last Wednesday. The UV boys and girls teams came out on top to win the tournament overall.

Leading the way for the Storm boys was Blake Wright, who bowled an impressive 710 series, including a 278 in his final game. His 278 was enough to capture the top scratch game on the day. Teammates Nate Rumovicz (227) and Owen Hill (224) followed behind Wright in the scratch game category.

Jacob Prentice took the top handicap game with a 277, as he bowled a 269 with an added eight handicap in the first of three games. He finished with a 698 series.

For the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats, Ryan Larson led the team with a 547 series. The rest of the team followed behind consistently, but not enough to bring them to the top in scoring.

Afton/Harpursville took third in the team handicap series overall with a 3200, behind UV (3414) and Deposit (3353). Michael Pratt held the best series on the team with a 455, including a 188 in the final game.

The Greene/Oxford boys finished second in the team handicap game with a 1116, behind Hancock’s 1166. Colton Smith led the team with a 544 series while teammate Aidan Carter finished the day with a 538. Carter came in second for the individual handicap series with a 733 overall (538 + 65 handicap), behind Deposit’s Eliot Dermot (754).

Paving the way for the UV girls was Brynn Grant with a 609 series, including a 220 in the first game and a 201 in the final game. Her 220 was good enough for second place in the overall scratch game, while teammate Shelby Rose had the highest of a 238. Rose finished with a 527 overall.

As a team, the Storm took first in the team handicap game with a 1115 over Greene-Oxford’s 1085. They also earned the team handicap series with a 3120 overall.

For the three committed Lady Bobcats, Catherine Fuller finished with a team-high 453 series while Faith Huestis bowled a 311, and Railey Odell rounded out the scoring with a 322.

Afton/Harpursville saw consistent bowling from everyone on their team as Ollie Rutherford achieved the team’s highest with a 382 series.

Greene-Oxford finished second to UV in the top handicap game with a 1085 with impressive scores all around. Brianna Fowlston earned the victory in the individual scratch series with a excellent 630, including bowling a 267 in the final game. Teammate Halia Tallett bowled a 220 in her first game to finish second behind Fowlston in the scratch game. She finished with a 613 overall.
