NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado girls basketball team hosted Binghamton in just their second home game of the season on Friday. They suffered a 62-38 loss to the Patriots and currently sit at 3-5 on the season.

Norwich stayed consistent in the first half of play, even though they struggled with some foul trouble early on. They played tough on defense and captured many steals, but their offense could not match momentum. The Purple Tornado kept it a 10-point deficit, where they had chances to comeback, but Binghamton dominated in the remaining 16 minutes of play.

Norwich was led by Josey Ryan with 16 points with two three’s while Olivia Schiraldi finished with 12 points and knocked down two three-point shots as well.

Binghamton’s Promise Myers could not be stopped as she continued to knock down three’s off the bench to lead with 18 points.

Norwich will remain home for the next four games as they host Sus Valley on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
