WINTER VOLLEYBALL: S-E Falls To Waterville

SHERBURNE - On Wednesday evening, the Sherburne-Earlville volleyball team hosted Waterville, where they were swept in all three games. So far in the 2022 season, the Marauders have started out 1-3 throughout four challenging games.

Kali Waltz collected 12 total points with six service points, 11 assists, four aces, two digs, and two kills in the loss. With 11 assists added to her season stats, Waltz now has a team-high of 23.

Ava Rowe finished behind her with nine points, consisting of five service points, five digs, two aces, and two kills.

Throughout the four games played, Waltz has earned 40 points, but it is teammate LeeAnn Behret who currently has the most points with 42.

Senior Jordan Winton leads the Marauders with 19 kills while Waltz has a total of nine. Winton also leads the team with 13 digs. Behret’s 28 service points is enough for a team-best with Waltz not far behind with 21.

S-E’s lone win came off a close 3-2 victory over Herkimer. In the win, Behret excelled with 31 total points, including 19 service points, nine aces, five sets, and three kills.

With tonight’s game against Saquoit Valley expected to be postponed, S-E’s next game will be at Clinton on Monday at 7 p.m.
