NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team hosted Chenango Forks for just their second home game of the season on Wednesday evening.

Prior to the game, the NHS Basketball team and Boosters held a short dedication ceremony. They dedicated this year’s 2022-2023 basketball program to Tim Foote. Tim has been an active member of the NHS athletic community for over 30 years.

Norwich stayed up tempo with the Blue Devils for a majority of the game, but the 20 points Forks scored in the final eight minutes sealed a 72-55 victory.

Norwich’s Jerrell Stokes led the team with 25 points and knocked down five threes on the night. Mitchell Collins was three-savy as well with three three’s to finish with 10 points.

The Blue Devils had four players in double-digits. Trevor Warpus, the star senior, paved the way with 19 points. He sat out late in the third quarter with four fouls, but his teammates did not disappoint. Steven Samsel had 17 points as Liam Carnegie finished with 16 and Grady Stark capped off the night with 12 points.

Norwich will be at Windsor on Saturday for a 11:45 a.m. tip-off.
