BOWLING: Norwich Girls Win; Boys Lose Against Owego

SIDNEY – For the 2022 season, the Norwich bowling team will be using East Main Lanes in Sidney for their home matches and appreciates Sidney for allowing them to use their lanes.

Norwich went even in their first meeting against Owego. The girls held on to a 3-2 victory while the boys took a 5-0 loss.

For the girls, Andie Mucha was dominant for Norwich as she bowled a 550 series, including her highest score of a 197 in the first game. Norwich’s 686 points in the first game was the key to their 1948-1908 victory even though they lost the final two games.

The Norwich boys were outmatched by Owego in a 2871-2322 deficit. Owego scored 1025 points in the second game with three bowlers finishing with over a 200.

Norwich was led by Dawson Robinson and Aleks Smietana. Robinson finished with a 510 series, including his highest of a 184 in the second game while Smietana had a team-best 223 in the third game and finished with a 505 series.

Norwich is back in action this afternoon (Tuesday) against Chenango Valley.
